We gave new life to the iconic Zagreb children's theater Žar ptica by completely refreshing the existing folding seats.
Until now, children, parents and professors were forced to sit on cloth covers pulled over metal chairs, which had reached the end of their lifespan after about 40 years of use.
Instead of completely new chairs, the management of the theater decided to reupholster, cushion and strengthen the metal bases of the existing benches, as well as custom-made bolts, screws and springs.
By reupholstering the chairs and replacing the screws and springs, we also helped with sound absorption and acoustics.
Finally, we made a simple wheelchair access system - so that two pews are unrolled from the floor and set aside during the show and just roll back up until needed again.
